(ISC)²® Announces Recipients for its Fourth Annual Americas Information Security Leadership Awards

Recipients Honored for their Success in Elevating the Information Security Workforce in Central, North, and South America 


(ISC)² Security Congress – Atlanta, Ga., October 2, 2014  (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified information and software security professionals with over 100,000 members worldwide, today announced the recipients of its fourth annual Americas Information Security Leadership Awards

The Americas ISLA program recognizes the achievements of outstanding information security professionals who have led an industry initiative, program or project resulting in a more proficient, resilient information security workforce in Central, North, and South America. 

“Each year, I’m always impressed by the caliber of nominations we receive for the Americas ISLA program,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP, executive director of (ISC)². “We were particularly encouraged to see more nominations for women leaders in information security this year. Each of these recipients is doing meaningful work that will help to shape the future information security workforce, and I’m proud to recognize each of them for their accomplishments.” 


The 2014 Americas ISLA judges, all senior-level information security professionals from (ISC)²’s North American and Latin American Advisory Boards, carefully reviewed the nominations and selected individual recipients in four distinct categories and one additional special recognition award for community service. The 2014 Americas ISLA recipients are: 


Information Security Practitioner Category 

• Nanditha Rao, CISSP, global information security officer, CSC, Project: Global Citizen Services 

Senior Information Security Professional Category 

• Lisa Foremann-Jiggetts, CISSP, President & CEO, Women’s Cyberjutsu, Project: Cyberjutsu Girls Academy 

• Mario Chiock, CISSP, Cyber Security executive, Next Generations, Schlumberger, Project: Data Centric Security 

Up-and-Coming Information Security Professional Category 

• Candice Moschell, CISSP, manager, Crowe Horwath, LLP, Project: HIPAA Security Risk Assessment 

Community Service Star Award 

• Lisa Foremann-Jiggetts, Project: Cyberjutsu Girls Academy
