Certifications From Apple Computer

Apple Certified Associate
Skill Level: End User       Status: Active
For individuals who wish to validate their skills with Apple's digital lifestyle and authoring applications, iLife and iWork. This is primarily intended for students and educators, but others can earn it as well.

Apple Certified Pro
Skill Level: End User       Status: Active
For endusers who show proficiency in a specific Apple Pro product. By taking and passing the Apple Certified Pro exam, a user is given Apple Certified Pro status, which allows them to distinguish themselves to colleagues, employers, and prospective clients as skilled users of the chosen software application. This certification gives individuals a competitive edge in today’s ever-changing job market.

Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT)
Skill Level: Basic       Status: Active
For individuals wishing to service, troubleshoot, and repair both desktop and portable Macintosh systems. Note that ACMT certification by itself does not authorize a technician to perform repairs on Apple products, to be officially authorized, you must participate in Apple's authorized technican program.

Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
Skill Level: Basic       Status: Active
For individuals with understanding of Mac OS X core functionality and an ability to configure key services, perform basic troubleshooting, and assist end users with essential Mac OS X capabilities. This certification addresses the technical skills needed by a Mac OS X specialist who works as a support professional or otherwise assists Mac OS X users with technical issues. Previously named Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist (ACHDS) but changed its name with Mac OS X Leopoard release.

Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC)
Skill Level: Basic       Status: Active
For Mac OS X technical coordinators and entry-level system administrators who have a foundation in Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server core functionality and an ability to configure key services and perform basic troubleshooting of the essential Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server capabilities.

Apple Xsan 2 Administrator
Skill Level: Basic       Status: Active
For individuals who wish to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Apple's SAN file system for Mac OS X.

Apple Certified Media Administrator (ACMA)
Skill Level: Intermediate       Status: Active
For individuals who have in-depth knowledge of Xsan architecture, including an ability to install and configure systems, architect and maintain networks, customize and troubleshoot services, and integrate Mac OS X, Final Cut Server, and other Apple technologies within an Xsan installation. ACMA certification is for system administrators and technicians working for resellers, post houses, studios or other large facilities.

Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA)
Skill Level: Intermediate       Status: Active
For individuals who install and configure machines; architect and maintain networks; enable, customize, tune, and troubleshoot a wide range of services; and integrate Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, and other Apple technologies within a multi-platform networked environment. ACSA certification is intended for full-time professional system administrators and engineers who manage medium-to-large networks of systems in complex multiplatform deployments.

Apple Certified Trainer
Skill Level: Instructor       Status: Active
For individuals wishing to teach courses on Apple technologies, using the Apple curriculum. Training areas for this designation include topics ranging from Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server administration to Apple’s Pro Applications, including Aperture, Color, DVD Studio Pro, Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Shake, and Soundtrack Pro.
Apple offers two ACT programs: The Pro Apps ACT program, which certifies individuals to teach Apple's Pro Applications curriculum and The IT ACT program, which certifies individuals to teach Apple's Mac OS X curriculum.

Apple Certified Trainer for Pro Products
Skill Level: Instructor       Status: Active
For individuals wishing to teach courses on Apple Pro products, including Final Cut Pro, Shake, DVD Studio Pro or Logic, using the Apple curriculum.
