A Passage to India: GoCertify Expands Its Reach

Taj Mahal in India

The humble beginnings of GoCertify are so far back in the distant past that people were still going to movie theaters to watch Leonardo DiCaprio go down with the ship in Titanic when we planted our flag and started to colonize this particular corner of the internet. In 2015, many of the teenage girls who shed bitter tears over Leo's (pretend) demise probably have children of their own ... and GoCertify, like Celine Dion's heart in that one song from the movie, is still going on and on.

Nothing stays the same forever, on the other hand, and the times are a changing for us, too. GoCertify is proud to announce that we've added another branch to our family tree: Everybody please welcome GoCertify India to the club. Technology innovation is booming in India, which has literally thousands of tech start-up companies. Just like in the United States and many other places around the world, professional IT skills are at a premium. And where do you turn to develop professional IT skills?

We maintain our strong belief that certification is the best way to both train the workforce of the future and help workers keep pace with fast-evolving technology. In one of the finer moments of his hit-and-miss acting career, late night TV host Jimmy Fallon, playing rock promoter Dennis Hope in Almost Famous, said, "I didn't invent the rainy day, man. I just own the best umbrella." IT is the best umbrella for a whole lot of the world's rainy day problems, and certification puts the power of IT in the palm of your hand.

The launch of GoCertify India will be an ongoing development. It's going to take us a while to get things fully up to speed in our new domain. We've recruited a small team of writers both in India and elsewhere around the globe, however, and we're going to keep adding to the site, one brick at a time, until we manage to build something worthy of a country that's home to some of the most recognizable structures in human history. You never finish, as they say, 100 percent of the projects you don't start, so we've taken a deep breath and flipped the switch.

Nothing much will change in this immediate vicinity: GoCertify will continue to grow in its own right, and we'll still provide quality content and certificaiton aids. Our vision is just a little bit more far-reaching now. We're using our megaphone to shout the message of IT certification just a little bit farther into the world. And there are other developments in store. India is far from the world's only rapidly expanding IT hub, and we've already taken aim at additional targets.

So thanks to every one of readers and visitors, whether you've been here since the beginning — back when there was still a chance that this time Jack might hang on just a little bit longer — or you just discovered us last week. It's an exciting time for GoCertify, and we're happy to have all of you along for the ride. Here's to the future!
