Linux Professional Institute joins the European e-Skills Association

Sacramento, CA, USA - The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced it has become a member of the European e-Skills Association (EeSA).  EeSA supports the development of e-skills and digital literacy in Europe in partnership with the European Commission, public authorities across Europe, SMEs and other stakeholders.

"LPI works with a number of Linux distributions including openSUSE. As LPI's exam development process relies on the support of dedicated volunteers from the Linux and Open Source community we also appreciate the importance of volunteer efforts to the development of openSUSE. We are pleased to be part of this community initiative with openSUSE and to be a certification provider for their openSUSE conference," said Jim Lacey, president and CEO of LPI.

LPI has worked at a leadership level with EeSA in the past: most recently on IT skills standards within a European-wide e-Competence Framework (e-CF) and an eSkills Quality Labels program.  For more information see:
