LPI at LinuxTag 2014 in Berlin with demos, exam prep, workshops and discounted exams
(Kassel, Germany: April 30, 2014) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, participates as main sponsor at the conference fair LinuxTag 2014 in Berlin from May 8th-10th, 2014. For the first time the members of LPI e.V. will present the Raspberry Pi Demonstration Box in public at the LPI information booth. Dimitrios Bogiatzoules, assessor on the board of LPI e.V., said: "LPI e.V. supports training and qualification in Free Software and especially in Linux. The Raspberry Pi usually works with a Linux distribution and has been developed with the goal to provide a cost-effective alternative for education and teaching in computer sciences. Therefore it is an optimal platform for us and we support the usage in all learning environments." In cooperation with its partners IKU Systems & Services and Heinlein Support, LPI offers a free training course to prepare for the LPI exams for LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 during LinuxTag in Berlin. The preparation course will be held on Friday, May 9th, 2014 from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs at Heinlein Akademie in Berlin. This training is the ideal preparation for the exams leading to LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 certifications, which will be also offered during LinuxTag in Berlin, for example on Saturday, May 10th, at 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. Andreas Niederl�nder, experienced IT trainer and CEO of IKU Systems & Services, will be leading this course. IKU Systems & Services is also "LPI Approved Gold Partner" in LPI CE's partner program "LPI Certified Solution Provider". Directly before the LinuxTag on Wednesday, May 7th, there will be a workshop on LPI's Linux Essentials program with international experts led by G. Matthew Rice, Director of Product Development at LPI Inc., at indisoft GmbH.
For many years LPI is LinuxTag certification partner, and also this year promotional exams will be available for visitors. The following exams will be offered by LPI: LPI Linux Essentials - in German and English, LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 (101, 102, 201, 202) - in German and English, LPIC-3 (300, 303 and 304) - in English and Univention Certified Professional (LPI 198) - in English. The exams take approximately two hours including introduction. The current exam fees are published on the LPI CE registration website under the following address: https://lpievent.lpice.eu.
Participants have to pay the exam fee cash before the start of the exam in the exam room (room J) within the area of the LinuxTag. They must show a valid photo ID and a LPI ID number. For a LPI ID please register online at https://www.lpi.org/register. Because of a restricted number of seats, please register in advance using the LPI registration web form under https://lpievent.lpice.eu. The exams will be held on Thursday May 8th, at 10:00 and 16:00 hrs, and on Friday, May 9th, at 10:00 and 18:00 hrs, as well as Saturday, May 10th, at 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. Meeting point for all candidates is 15 minutes before the start time in the exam room.
