ISACA Recognizes Significant Member Contributions with its 2020 Global Achievement Awards

Schaumburg, Ill. (Aug. 3, 2020) – Year-round, an integral community of members, volunteers, and industry leaders across the globe helps global non-profit tech association ISACA live up to its purpose, promise, and leadership—and some contributors especially shine. ISACA's awards program has recognized these individuals' outstanding efforts with this year's top honors, the 2020 Global Achievement Awards.

 

Recognizing the positive impact of these members, and seeking to inspire future generations of business and technology professionals, ISACA presented the following individuals with its 2020 Global Achievement Awards:

 

Michael Cangemi Best Book/Author Award: Ian Cooke, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT; Group IT Audit Manager, An Post; was recognized for his contribution to the ISACA® Journal, "IS Audit Basics: Developing the IT Audit Plan Using COBIT 2019" in volume 3, 2019.

Eugene M. Frank Award for Meritorious Performance: Jo Stewart-Rattray, CISA, CRISC, CISM, CGEIT; Director, BRM Advisory; Chief Security Officer, Silver Chain Group; was honored for her leadership in the SheLeadsTech program and for advocating for women in tech globally.

John Kuyers Award for Best Speaker: Arnulfo Espinosa Dom�nguez, CISA, CRISC, CISM; IT Audit and Fraud Director, Afirme Financial Group; was acknowledged for his ability to present complex concepts to audiences in simple manner and for sharing his passion and knowledge by speaking at ISACA events.

Harold Weiss Award for Outstanding Achievement: Andre Pitkowski, CRISC, CGEIT; professor at Senac S�o Paulo and Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie; and Principal Consultor, APIT Consultoria de Informatica Ltda; was recognized for his significant contributions to the governance profession and within the Latin America region.

ISACA Chair's Award: 2019-2020 ISACA board chair Brennan P. Baybeck; VP and CISO, Customer Services at Oracle; dedicated this award to the passionate members, chapters, chapter leaders and volunteers of the ISACA organization who have been instrumental in making the association's first 50 years so impactful.

 

"At the core of what makes ISACA extraordinary are its people," said David Samuelson, ISACA CEO. "It is so important to recognize those individuals who go above and beyond in service to the organization and to the wider global community, and we are delighted to honor these remarkable ISACA volunteers."

 

As part of ISACA's continuing evolution, the association is retiring these awards, and instating the ISACA Hall of Fame—a peer-nominated honor—as well as adding the following new Global Achievement awards in 2021, in an effort to expand its recognition of members of the ISACA professional community worldwide:

 

ISACA Technology for Humanity Award: Recognizes an individual, program, or organization whose efforts in connecting with underserved communities or underrepresented individuals has helped bridge the digital divide.

ISACA Educational Excellence Award: Recognizes an inspiring educator or academic at the primary, secondary, or tertiary educational level, or an educational institution with inspiring initiatives, who has empowered students to pursue careers advancing technology.

ISACA Inspirational Leadership Award: Recognizes a visionary leader who has inspired organizations and professionals to advance and adapt within a digital world.

ISACA Innovative Solutions Award: Recognizes an individual or organization who has developed or utilized technology to solve business or societal challenges.

 

Nominations for 2021 Global Achievement Awards and Chapter Awards are open through 30 September. Individuals are encouraged to nominate exemplary professionals, organizations, or chapters for their outstanding contributions. Members also will be able to vote in January for the most inspirational member and/or volunteer to receive the Eugene Frank Founders Award, as part of the ISACA Hall of Fame.
