IBM Has New Umbrella for Certification Program
Lots of professional IT certification programs are attached to large, multinational IT corporations that have a number of different departments, divisions, and areas of focus. From time to time, the certification program at such companies will be moved from one umbrella to another, as happened recently at Microsoft, where the long-established certification program was combined with Microsoft's training and education programs to create Microsoft Learn. A similar shift was recently announced at IBM, where the venerable certification program is being folded in with the company's training and education programs under the label IBM Training. The move will simplify the current regime, making it easier for certification candidates to navigate the extensive library of IBM certifications and work with the available training resources.
ISACA Blogger: Get CISA-Certified on Your First Attempt
There are certain niches of the IT industry where one certification is more or less the default setting for evaluating expertise. Such is the case with IT auditing, where you're (essentially) either not certified at all, or you have the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credential from cybersecurity and governance professional association ISACA. If you're on an IT auditing career path, but you haven't yet stepped up to the certification plate, then you'll want to spare a moment (and a click) to check out the ISACA Now Blog, where guest blogger Augustus Ndamage offers advice for anyone who wants to prepare for the CISA certification exam and then pass in on their first attempt. In addition to outlining some exam- and training-related particulars, Ndamage notes that having the right attitude can make a big difference: "The most important factor in passing the CISA exam is the motivation behind your pursuit of this certification. Why do you want the certification and how passionate are you about passing the exam?"
