Cisco Updates CCNP Certification, Announces Revised CCIE Voice Exam

Cisco has updated the CCNP certification and released new exams to reflect the latest technology content. Still focusing on the management of Cisco routers and switches, the revised program also includes coverage of techniques to deploy and support the wireless, voice, and security applications on the network edge. Four exams are still required, and new versions are already available. The current CCNP exams will retire on December 31, 2006. For more on Cisco's CCNP certification see GoCertify's CCNP page.

Cisco has also announced plans to release a new version of the CCIE Voice written exam. The new exam, which will be released between October 31 and November 2, will include several previously untested topics including CallManager Express, Cisco Unity Express, and Integrated Contract Distribution.

Another Microsoft MCTS Credential Almost Ready to Go

Microsoft is rolling out another of its Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) tracks. Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence is for individuals who implement and maintain business intelligence solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Development tool suite. The exam for this designation is slated for release in early 2007.

SAS Base Programming Exam for SAS9 Debuts

The SAS Certified Professional Program has just released the SAS Base Programming exam for SAS9. This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of SAS programming essentials and functionality within SAS9 software. This exam is required to earn the SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS9 credential. The SAS Advanced Programming Exam for SAS9 will debut this fall. Pass both and you will become a SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS9

Beta Registration for OMG Embedded Specialist Moved to September 9

A beta version of the exam for the intermediate level of the OMG Certified Real time and Embedded Specialist Certification (OCRES) will be available from September 9, 2006 through mid October. The beta for the advanced level will run from September 30, 2006 to approximately November 10. To register, visit the OMG web site.
